Wright Vigar
Bringing a long-standing professional firm onto a more flexible digital platform.
We've worked with Wright Vigar since 2019, initially developing its internal intranet before later rebuilding the firm's public website and careers platform.
In 2024 we moved the main website away from WordPress and onto our own CMS, giving the firm a faster, more controlled platform designed specifically around its content and requirements.
The new site needed to feel professional without becoming impersonal, reflecting a firm whose relationships with its clients remain an important part of how it works.

User experience
Starting with how clients look for help
Accountancy websites can quickly become organised around the structure of the firm rather than the needs of the person visiting them.
Wright Vigar wanted to make it easier for businesses to understand where the firm could help.
Alongside clearer service and sector content, we developed a “What are your challenges?” journey that approaches the site from the visitor's point of view.
Instead of requiring somebody to know the name of the accounting service they need, they can start with the problem they are trying to solve and move towards the relevant expertise.
It is a relatively simple idea, but one that reflects how we approach UX more generally: don't make customers understand your organisation before they can use your website.
The platform
Moving away from WordPress
The new platform uses our own CMS rather than a collection of WordPress themes and plugins.
That gives us greater control over the editing experience, performance, security and future development of the site.
The administration area can be shaped around Wright Vigar's actual content rather than requiring its team to work around a generic publishing system.
It also means new functionality can be developed directly when requirements change.
Recruitment
A dedicated careers experience
Recruitment has its own priorities, audiences and workflows, so we created a dedicated careers microsite alongside the main website.
Candidates can browse and filter available positions and submit applications, including supporting documents, through purpose-built forms.
Behind that sits a secure management area through which the internal team can review applications, manage their status and work with applicant information.
As requirements have developed, we've added further data capture and reporting functionality, including spreadsheet exports for the HR team.

From our side
We've worked with Wright Vigar on a couple of different systems now, and that continuity makes a difference. When a new requirement comes up, we already understand a lot about the firm, the people using the systems and why earlier decisions were made.
For us, that's one of the best parts of a long client relationship: new projects don't have to start from zero.
